Valentine's Day

Hi friends!
I have some exciting news...

Do you remember last year when I delivered cupcake-grams for Valentine's Day? Well, Serendipities is doing something similar this year and I am so excited about it! Flowers are lovely, yes, but all we really want is something sweet to snack on during this silly-but-somewhat-exciting holiday.

Us gals at Serendipities have just the thing. A carefully-crafted, charmingly decorated cupcake made completely from scratch. I tell you after eating our cupcakes nothing else compares (and I'm not just being biased, promise). So, do a little something special for your significant other, co-workers, or children and send them some cupcakes. Here are the details:

In order to have delivery free, you must order at least 1 dozen cupcakes at $25.00. You can see a list of our flavors here. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Call us at 402.202.6022 to place an order and come visit me at work in the meantime :)

Cheers,
Jord.

Twenty Twelve Goals

I originally started this blog as a way to organize my resolutions and stick with them. Though I have found the blog to be helpful with organizing, it hasn't necessarily given me the commitment to my goals that I need. I was reading one of my favorite nutrition blogs the other day (Rooted Wellbeing) and she suggested that taking your goals one month at a time makes it much easier to follow through. So this year I have many things I'd like to focus on (as always) but I'm going to take each month to focus one or two so they become permanent habits in my lifestyle.

My resolutions for 2012:

1. Learn to Garden

2. Switch to all natural cleaning & beauty products

3. Learn more about the benefits of essential oils and natural remedies

4. Get to know Lincoln. Make it our home even if it's only temporary

5. Focus on friendship and community

6. Prepare my body for pregnancy and overall health. Change my diet (drastically), fight my sugar cravings, and gain 15 pounds (this one scares me!!)

7. Truman and I have set a goal together to spend more time organizing our finances and learning how to use them wisely.

I'm excited for the challenges that 2012 will bring!

2012

We threw our very first New Year's Eve party this year and it was a huge success. I truly have a passion for planning parties and gathering close friends--wish I could do it every holiday! The more parties I plan, the more I find that the key to throwing a successful event is your guests. You can decorate 'til your bank account is empty and have the most lavish menus, but a good party is impossible without great people and we are so lucky to have so many in our lives.

We played silly New Year's Eve themed games (thanks everyone for cooperating!!) and ate until each serving plate was empty. I woke up this morning to empty cups and party hats everywhere and I felt so happy. (The second component to a great party is a total mess at the end--it means everyone had fun!) 2012 will be a great year :)

I got a little festive and dipped my fingers in glitter for the party.

We each made our own party hats and wrote our resolutions on them.

Here's to a year full of many gatherings :)

Last Hoorah

Since I'm currently a cupcake decorator at Serendipities Cupcakes, I'm no longer taking gigs through Cinnamon Girl Cupcakes. However, I had one last wedding to do this weekend and it was a blast. The decorations were beautiful so it was so fun to see my work on display!

 Truman was the best helper!

 Bride & Groom cupcakes

I love being a part of weddings. Seeing each bride's creativity and getting to contribute to that is such a blessing. It was a great end to the year.
