Maple Oatmeal Scones

It was a great fall day. The air was chilled (almost a little too much!) and the afternoon was quiet. Truman watched the game and I spent my time in the kitchen making these little things. They are delicious and we have enough to last weeks...which is why I will be sharing with my friends :) You can find the recipe here. Cheers to another lovely day in good ol' Nebraska.

The Little Things

It's a quiet night here at the Faeh home. The windows are cracked to let the tiniest bit of cool air in and little bean is snuggled into a blanket. Since I'm embracing the lovely details of fall, I decided it was time to make my first chai tea of the season. Drinking this chai takes me back to my coffee shop days. Though the chai is wonderful, the milk froth is what comforts me the most. Call me spoiled, but working at the coffee shop every day turned me into a froth addict. I don't even like milk anymore unless it has the foamy top....which is why I took it upon myself to buy a milk frother from William Sonoma :) In my opinion, it's a must-have for Nebraska weather.

I'm feeling very thankful tonight. Praising God for his answered prayers and perfect timing. For crisp air. For frothy milk. For snuggly coco. For a fresh, new season.

Hello Fall

Today was the ultimate fall day. I'll admit, I'm probably the only one in Nebraska who is still shedding tears that the hot and humid weather is gone, but I decided to embrace the cool breeze today.

I decided to whip out my full length skirt which will be my go-to piece for the cool weather.

Kali made a trip up to hang and do some laundry so I decided to make Bacon Cheddar Potato soup...so good! Recipe here.

While in the kitchen, I let the sweet sounds of James Taylor keep me company. His "October Road" album is my favorite in the fall.

I also tried a new scone recipe and it has easily become my favorite so far. Maple Nut Scones. Recipe here.

It was fun to spend time with my sister and welcome the new season (but if it gets lower than 70 I'm going to scream).
Who are we kidding? We never try to look pretty in pictures.

Here's to a new season. Be nice to us, Nebraska.
